Does anyone know what this happens to be in terms of parts of a gun, please? Apart from the fact that it seems to be part of the breech (Verschluss), I'm having trouble identifying it.

There's indentation (Fangrast) in the slide (at the side) and a kind of tongue (Fanghaken) which hooks in it.

No clue how it is called in English.

Thank you, everybody, for your replies, and my apologies for not replying earlier, but I didn't get any notification for some reason. I think it must be a sear, despite the fact that it looks as though my text is also using "Raststollen" for that.
