Hi,
concerning a recipe, I need to translate the following phrase into English.

"Poco alla volta aggiungere la farina, meglio se setacciata, continuando a mescolare per evitare il formarsi di grumi nell'impasto"

My attempt:

"Little by little add the flour, better if sieved, while keeping on to mix in order to avoid the lumps development in the dough".

  • I'd say, "preferably sieved".

    I'd also make a couple of other adjustments:

    "Add the flour, preferably sieved first, a little at a time, stirring continuously to prevent lumps forming in the dough."
