Hi!!! I'm translating a legal document (It-En), it talks about "fatti lievi", like an abbreviation of "fatti di lieve importanza". How can I translate into English? I tried with "less important facts" but it sounds too litteraly translated... thank you in advance

    The italian sentence is: va escluso che si tratti di fatti lievi, come tali di trascurabile offensività...
    I translated: It has to be excluded that it is about less important acts, and of non-negligible injuriousness...

    As it stands, your sentence doesn't make much sense, I'm afraid, but we need more context. What is the document about? Also, is this the whole sentence?
     
    The document is an italian judge's verdict.
    The whole sentence is "Va escluso che si tratti di fatti lievi, come tali di trascurabile offensività, rientranti nella diversa ed autonoma fattispecie di reato p. e p. dall'articolo 73"
    it's the first time I translate legal italian! =(
     
    You are welcome. However, I hesitated to suggest "minor offences" because your Italian sentence has "come tali di trascurabile offensività" immediately afterwards, so the "offence" notion is repeated when you translate the whole sentence into English. (Hope that makes sense!)
