feathered hair

How can you describe feathered hair? I have no idea what it looks like. I tried searching in Google but still don't get it. Please help me.

It is like the waves in Farrah Fawcett's hair in the '70s. Feathered hair has many layers and waves, therefore making it resemble the threads of a feather. This style was popular in the late '70s to mid-'80s.

Yeah Farrah Fawcett in Charlie's Angels is the perfect example of feathered hair.

Oh and the typical thing to feathered hair was "wings"...all things that reflect our lapses in esthetic judgment.
