Is the above sentence right?

He felt cold is correct, unless you are comparing how he feels now to how he felt before.

GuitarMaestro is right. "He felt cold" is a complete sentence - "He felt colder" is not. "Colder" would have to be followed up with something to express "colder than what?" ie:

"In the chilly climate, he felt colder than he thought possible" OR
"In the chilly climate, he felt colder than he ever had at home"

The sentence could stand alone if you preceded it with the comparison, i.e.

He felt cold at the beach. In the mountains, he felt colder.
