Is is appropriate to say fellow-alumnus or fellow-truckdriver when the person is a female? Or is there another way to say it?

    Yes, I think it's fine. "Fellow" doesn't have anything to do with being male when it's an adjective as far as I'm aware. There shouldn't be a hyphen between the words though.
