Festbestand

Hello,

Could sombody tell me exactly what this means? It may well be Swiss German. It's from a job description advertising a temporary post "mit der Möglichkeit ... in den Festbestand zu wechseln"

I am assuming it's something along the lines of "with the possibility of becoming a permanent/fixed position" but am hesitating as I can't find many examples of its use online and this is just an educated guess.

"Festbestand" is "fester Bestand" (fixed stock) and it's
mostly used in connection with goods. Never heard of a
"Festbestand" of employees. But it may be a coinage of
a Human Resources Department. I would use the term
"Stammbelegschaft".

I had the feeling it was jargon as there were so few instances of it when I tried to research it! It does sound like the sort of word an HR department would coin...
