First in his class

Or second, or third, or twenty-seventh. Some Thai primary schools rank the students in each class according to their academic performances every semester. Now this is probably not done in France (or is it?) but there should be better ways to talk about this kind of ranking than what I currently have in my translation:

Je suis (classé) le numéro 7 de ma classe d’après mes résultats.

NB This is not the same as "graduating first in one's class", but is perhaps similar enough.

Je suis septième, premier(ère), second, deuxième, etc.... de ma classe. Unless it's required (for you didn't provide any context or any specific question either), I'd totally skip the 'd'après mes résultats' part, since it's totally obvious that it's your academic results got you there ! ;)

I thought it might not be obvious since I believe the French don't do this sort of ranking. If it is, then tant mieux.

For the record, I was always first in my class... in karaoke-singing.

No, in fact, not even that. :(
