    Hello.
He's swimming in the first place.
i would like to say that he is in the first place in swimming.
How could I improve the sentence?

Do you mean that the race is going on now, and that he is in the lead at this moment? That the race is over, and he won? Something else?

Thank you Egmont. May I ask how to express it in both situation? - both on going and the race is over.

He's leading in the swimming competition.

He came in first in the swimming competition. (I believe that in BE, they'd say "came first".)
