    Hi there!
Can anybody tell me if I can translate "first trial" with "prima udienza"?

The sentence refers to Saddam Hussein:

Found guilty in his first trial for crimes against Shiites, he was sentenced to die.

I was just wondering if it is right to translate with primo processo, or in prima udienza, but I'm not an expert of Law nor in Italian.

Well, if he was sentenced I would say it was "primo processo" I think you need various "hearings/udienze" before you can sentence someone

Okay, now I see the difference, and it was quite obvious... thanks a lot!
