They stopped running and stood in the great jungle that covered Venus, that grew and never stopped growing, tumultuously,
even as you watched it. It was a nest of octopi, clustering up great arms of fleshlike weed, wavering, flowering in this brief spring.

    :thumbsup: This is perfectly reasonable and accurate. I'm sure that you have noted by now that Bradbury's English in that story is poetic and full of implied and explicit comparisons. Here he compares the great jungle that covered Venus to a nest of octopi. He compares the vegetation to great arms of fleshlike weed.
