    Mitt is his first name, obviously. Someone who "flip-flops" constantly changes his opinions or positions. He will say one thing in one speech, then say something slightly or very different in another. Another American political slang term for this is "waffler."

    It's very common among politicians, as they need to address the needs of a particular audience. Some flip-flops are minor in nature, but others can add to true distrust of a candidate.
