    Both sound very unnatural. At some point, I think you'll want to take common phrases for actions like this and just commit them to memory – trying to recreate them will simply make you sound a bit, well, unusual.

    "rolling up our/your/his sleeves" is such a set phrase that it can also be used figuratively to mean "prepared to perform difficult work in a diligent way":
    Hey, everybody -- I just found out that the monthly report has to be finished by five o'clock today!! We need to roll up our sleeves and get to work right away.
