The sentence "for her to go to France would make me very happy" has the same meaning of the sentence "I would be very happy if she went to France" ? Or are there any differences? Thanks

    Hi stdeng,

For her to go to France would make me very happy = This sentence sounds a little sloppy, but it would be acceptable in conversation.
Her going to France would make me very happy = sounds slightly better
I'd be very happy if she went to France = sounds the best

And they all mean the same thing :) Best of luck :)
