for snake / bite or sting

Senior Member
1-A snake has bitten me.
2- A snake has stung me.

I go with number1, although I think both are right.
Which one do you go with?

RedwoodGrove is right that a wound inflicted by teeth is a bite, but teeth aren't required for us to call it a bite, just what dictionaries call "mouth parts". Some insects, such as mosquitoes, bite; others, such as bees and wasps, sting. Scorpions and jellyfish also sting.

We would not use Kayve's "kiss" for a bite or sting.
