Fork Heel Wear (Forklift)

Hi,

I'm translating a document on powered industrial trucks and ran into the following sentence:

"Fork heel wear of 15% is acceptable."

The 'fork heels' are in reference to the back (curved) part of the forks on a forklift. My attempt:

"Un desgasto en los talones de las horquillas de 15% es acceptable."

Please let me know if this works or if there's a better way to translate.

Any help is appreciated!

I find numerous sites that use talón in this meaning, so it seems OK to me. People in this field would probably understand it.

I concur with gengo's translation. A more natural flow though would be

    Un desgaste
[not desgasto] de 15% en los talones de las horquillas es aceptable.

    Saludos
