formal greeting

Hi! Can somebody come up with an extremely formal way to greet (like, hello) somebody in english? I can't think of any...

    How do you do? But you really should check out greeting in the WR dictionary... there are a surprising number of entries partway down that page for related threads. It seems that people are friendly, polite and inquisitive. :)

    Hi Lerrasa.

    It would depend on the sort of formal situaion you are thinking about, the relationship of the speaker to the other person, and even the time of day. Could we have more details, please?

    Woah, yes, there are a lot of them... And the greeting is from somebody that doesn't knows the other person at all; it's their first meeting. It's late night, and to give you some sort of idea I want to give this guy some sort of formal british accent...

    Yeah, present, one on one conversation... I was thinking that he should talk a little bit like the "agents" on the movie Matrix...
