FR: à la fois <nom> et <nom> - absence d'article

I am curious how to translate "À la fois réception du ... et profession de ..."

Why is there not an article before réception and profession as they are nouns?

It is a from a philosophical text, regarding where a philosopher's thought came from.

À la fois réception du péripatétisme, dans le commentaire sur le De anima, et profession de foi péripatéticienne, dans le De intellectu et intelligibili, la psychologie albertinienne naît aussi d’un dialogue de pensée avec Averroès.

    The nouns are used without any articles because the noun phrase à la fois X et Y is used in apposition. I'd however use the indefinite article in the English translation.

    Being both a receiving of peripateticism […] and a declaration of peripatetic faith […], the Albertinian psychology emerges…

    Alternatively, you may split the sentence:

    The Albertinian psychology is both a receiving of peripateticism […] and a declaration of peripatetic faith […]. It emerges…
