FR: on the ceiling

Est-ce qu'on dit "au plafond" ou "sur plafond" en francais pour le phrase "on the ceiling". Quelqu'un peut-il me donner un exemple, s'il vous plaît.

You definitely won't translate "on the ceiling" as sur plafond, because the word "the" is missing. But both au plafond and sur le plafond are possible as a function of context.

I think the best thing would be for you to invent an example sentence using "on the ceiling" in English and show us your attempt at translating it into French. Then we can go from there. :)

Although it is grammatically correct, I can't find any contexts where sur le plafond would be natural; I would use only au plafond. Part of the explanation is that sur suggests "on top of" whereas whatever is on the ceiling is indeed "under" it. (The ceiling surface is facing down.)
