Our book teaches that BANG adjectives (beauty, age, numbers, goodness, size) and other non BANG adjectives are written differently in a superlative sentence:
She is the most beautiful woman in the world.(BANG adjective)
Elle est la plus belle femme du monde.
She is the most intelligent woman in the world.(not a Bang adj.)
Elle est la femme la plus intelligente du monde.
However, someone just told me that it does not matter, that the first sentence can be written as "Elle est la femme la plus belle du monde" and that the second sentence can be "Elle est la plus intelligente femme du monde". Now I am a bit confused. Are there set rules for the different adjectives when used in a superlative sentence?
Merci.
