FR: Restent quelques photos magnifiques - verbe en début de phrase

I'm looking at an article with a sentence beginning "Restent quelques photos magnifiques" - how can the sentece begin with the conjugated form of the verb with no subject before it? Does this make the sentence formal, or have some other effect?

because, the subject is "quelques photos magnifiques" ... but this article could begin with "Ils restent quelques photos magnifiques"

Le sujet est bien là. Il y a simplement eu inversion du verbe (rester) et du sujet (quelques photos). C'est effectivement une figure de style - mais j'en ignore le nom. Elle met en relief le verbe et semble introduire une nuance de regret dans le fait qu'il ne reste rien d'autre que ces photos.
