I'm trying to say "Although she was the first female presidential candidate"

Is "Bien qu'elle ait été la première femme candidate à la présidence" correct?!

I think I've got the subjunctive bit right but I'm having trouble with the rest of the sentence and whether the adjectives are in the right order! This is for an exam next Friday so any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Bonjour et bienvenue theawilding,

Your sentence is perfect! La première candidate présidentielle féminine would be more literal but your sentence is much more idiomatic.

Keep up thinking like that for your exam!

    Hello theawilding and welcome! :)

Your sentence is perfect, but note that you could omit femme since candidate (in French) necessarily implies a female candidate.

la première candidate à la présidence
