French for the 24-hour clock or 12-hour clock

Hi

I was wondering what is the best way to say in French - "the French prefer to use the 24-hour clock (i.e. timekeeping system, not a physical clock) rather than the 12-hour one"

Something like "les français préfèrent dire l'heure sur 24"? Is there a better way?

    Peut être comme cela?

    "Les français préfèrent utliser une base de vingt-quatre heures plutôt que de deux fois douze heures pour dire l'heure."
