I'm trying to write a summary for a current event article on Coldplay's tour of France, so...
Does anyone know how you would translate "frontman" into French?
As in, the main person/leader in a band?
Like:
Chris Martin, the frontman of Coldplay, is charming, charismatic and sometimes funny.

We could have made fools of ourselves and suggested "homme de paille" for:

front man A man who serves as a nominal leader but who lacks real authority.

I am sorry to say this, but I believe that there is no completely appropriate translation of frontman, but frontman can also be used in French!

Leader reste le terme le plus couramment employé.
Mais nous avons aussi un mot très français : meneur.

Ex.
Gaëtan Roussel, le meneur du groupe Louise Attaque...
