I was wondering if this is translation of fruit spread is correct:
    معجون فاكهة
I'm referring to those products that are not exactly jam but can be spread on bread.
Thanks in advance for your help

Are you not allowed to call it jam?
Arabs often eat their sides by dipping bread in it rather than spreading it, much like Mediterranean cultures, so the concept of a 'spread' is rather foreign.

In the West in our unending drive to inovate and come up with new & improved products that you must have, we have: Fruit Spread.
Think of it as simple fruit without sugar and syrup in a spreadable form.

In essence it's jam without the added sugars.

In Tunisia معجون means jam, but I think in other countries it is toothpaste?

Thank you so much for your help.
Since I cannot use the word jam, do you think that the more generic term
    معجون فاكهة
    could be easily understood?

Well, yes, I think it could. Even if it will sound strange at first, but once the "invention" get known, the word will become familiar. Just like many other words did.
