Hi, could someone please help me translate the following two terms (which are a bit technical, esp. used in economics)? Thanks!

Fungibility.
Second Best Solutions (from welfare economics).

    fungibilidad.

Here are a few definitions in the field of economics:

[cuchu note: they all mean, simply, interchangeability!]

The substitutability of listed options, which is dependent upon their common expiration dates and strike prices. The congruence of expiration dates and strike prices lets investors close positions by offsetting transactions through the options clearing corporation.

measures ability of a buyer to substitute one technology or product for another

<li>The characteristic of interchangeability. Futures contracts for the same commodity and delivery month are fungible due to their standardized specifications for quality, quantity, delivery date and delivery locations.

    Eva,

Never doubt the ability of business people and burrrrocrats to make up ugly words!

Here is a handy link for some of the worst of these, in economic settings:

    IMF/FMI Glosario

Aagh, Cuchu, the IMF, one of the most hated institutions in the world for Argentina!
However, the link seems useful; I will keep it. ;)
    Thank you!
    EVA.
