Hi all, I believe that "garbage can" is AE and "rubbish bin" is BE. However, I'm wondering if "garbage bin" or "rubbish can" are used by native speakers?

Many thanks!

I (BE) would not use "rubbish can". "Cans" are otherwise known as "tins". They are invariably metallic, they have a lid or cap, and rarely exceed 5 litre/1 gallon capacity.

I am wondering what you mean by "garbage can" and "rubbish bin."

    In BE there are
    litter bins,
    waste bins,
    waste paper bins,
    rubbish bins,
dustbins, and things that are known simply as "bins". All of these vary and size and, sometimes, in shape.
