Hi,
whats the word for the Italian specialist GASTROENTEROLOGO? I supposed it could be gastroentherologist (and I then found it googling a bit) but it is not in this web-dictionary.
Is it correct?
Thanks,
William

  • Well I've always heard it called "gastroenterologist," but then I grew up with doctors in the family. :)
Actually, I've noticed that many of my US friends use the "proper" names for doctors: :) over here we tend not to (unless, as you say, you have doctors in the family, you're talking about doctors in a more formal context or you're a health professional) :).

.Remember that guy who did your colonoscopy?:D
Are you trying to provoke a reaction (reply....), sir?:D Yes? Righty-ho, here we go!:D

I daresay I'd have to consult a "bum specialist" if one of those ever became necessary!:D (Amici italiani, sto scherzando!:D)

A Gastro doc (love it!:)) sounds like something out of that old cartoon, The Jetsons. :)

And anyway... thanks to everyone!

"And now for something completely off topic" regarding BE/AE - I'm on an electronics forum with EE's from around the world,
and I recently was able to use the "Two peoples separated by a common language" on that forum.
    It was well-accepted.:)
