Does someone can help me to understand the meaning of "pervasive" and "interleaved" in this sentence?

Genome-wide pervasive transcription has been reported in many eukaryotic organisms revealing a highly interleaved transcriptome organization that involves hundreds of previously unknown non-coding RNAs.

I relate interleave with overlaping one RNA with the other, as ones would be longer than others and would all be overlaping. But to ensure this, would be helpful to know what you understand with those words.

Thanx!!!!!

    Hola:

    sugerencias
