Hi

Could you tell me the meaning of "I'm no longer a size zero. Give me a few moths on the zone" in the following context?

The following is an excerpt from US TV drama "The OC".
Julie is mother of Marissa and they are supposed to go to a dance party.

----------------------------------------------

Julie: Sweetie, I need to borrow your lip-gloss. (stops when she sees the dress) Oh. I love this dress. (bends down to pick dress up)

Marissa: Really. Maybe you should wear it.

Julie: Hah. You're sweet. (moves in front of the mirror, holding the dress in front of her) But I think we both know that I'm no longer a size zero. Give me a few more months on the zone.

-----------------------------------------------

Given the context, I guess Julie means to say she's got a little too fat to wear this dress, although she may be able to get slim enough in a few months. But I'm not sure.
Could you tell me the meaning of the above phrases, especially about "a size zero" and "on the zone"?

Thanks :)

Yes, "size zero" would be her dress size. I have no idea what "on the zone" means. The only thing I can think of is that it's some sort of diet or exercise program (in which case, it would be "the Zone").

"in the zone" is the common expression.

"on the zone" would imply working out on an exercise machine called a "zone" or, as Dimcl said, in an exercise program of some sort

I don't think that the context would call for "in the zone", Coiffe. In fact, I've Googled "The Zone" and found out that there's something called "The Zone Diet" so I suspect that's what is being referred to.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your help. :)

Hi, Dimcl. I took a look at a Zone Diet site myself. It seems this is a popular program among dieters. Interesting :)
