The links about "best wishes" are about the written salutation. What is the best way to say to someone (e.g. on the phone) "and give my best wishes to your wife too"? I've just stammered out "donnez mes respects" but it sounds weird (probably because it is!).

merci, zez. "Embrasse ta femme pour moi" sounds very risky to an English ear, but I'm sure it's just a little cultural difference! :)
