Can I say "I give up on something"? For example "I lent some money to a person a few years ago. When I asked him for the money he started being evasive. He used not to answer my calls so I gave upon that money after some time."

    Yes, you can.

It is to give up on (two words), not to give upon.

    give.....up.............on

    give.......upon
