glad for her

Hello everybody, if a native English speaker could clarify this, i´d be grateful:

Is correct in English to say: "i´m glad for her" when you mean to be glad because it´s gonna be good for her?? many thanks

Sorry to be such a stickler, but I couldn't let that "gonna" pass without a frown: "I'm glad for her (because it's going to be good for her)."
