goalmouth

    I'm not sure if "goalmouth" (in football [soccer]) is the name for the area marked with a white rectangle that is 5,5 metres wide (counting from the endline). Is this a correct definition? Thanks for help.

    That particular area is officially called "The Goal Area", and it, and anywhere else close to the goal is referred to unofficially as 'the goalmouth' by commentators and sports writers.
