God doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the called.

How would you restate the above sentence. What does it mean?

    God doesn't call to heaven those who deserve it, he defines those who he calls to heaven.

    It plays on both the dual meaning of "qualified" (the worthy, to define) in a linguistic sense, and the power of God in a religious sense. ;)

    God doesn't call on those for His work who are already capable; He calls on someone to do his work and them provides him/her with the qualities that are needed to accomplish it.
