Hello everyone,

I'm translating a growing guide for an organization that provides vegetable gardens for low-income people. There is a section that describe the how to grow, harvest, and use each herb planted. In the basil section, it says:

"Pinch off flowers to encourage bushier growth and to prevent the plant from going to seed."

I'm having a hard time translating pinch off and going to seed.

Mi intento
"Quite las flores con los dedos para estimular un crecimiento mas frondoso y prevenir que la planta grane."

Creo que descifré la segunda parte, going to seed.

Go to seed = echar semilla

Segundo intento:

"Quite las flores con los dedos para estimular un crecimiento mas frondoso y prevenir que la planta eche semilla."

¿Qué les parece?
