    A Skyline hotel, perhaps?

It would help enormously if you could give us a source and some more context, ullas84:).

The "skyline" usually describes the outline of a city's major buildings when viewed from a distance. I've never heard the term "going to the skyline". Is it possible they went to a scenic vista point to look back at the skyline of a city?

is it possible that he meant top floor(terrace) for skyline view?

'We went to the skyline and than played pool and went to my apartment'

Probably they went to the Skyline Hotel for a meal.

( I deleted my previous post when I saw the latest one. No, there is no expression in English about this.)
