Gold or golden (blue)

Senior Member
Hey there,
I'm doing a test and there is such a question:

Choose one word or phrase that best completes the sentence:

Melanie has got a... evening dress.
a) blue golden
b) blue gold
c) blue, gold
d) blue and gold

Thanks in advance

'Gold' and 'golden' here refer to colours rather than to the metal. The last one reflects that fact, 'blue and gold'. c) is incorrect punctuation: if the colour was red we wouldn't write 'blue, red dress' - we'd say 'blue and red dress. The first two suggest colours of the metal gold. So I choose the last.
