Hello everyone, :)
I have just come across this way of writing the preposition in this sentence, and I wonder if it makes any difference with 'into' or if it is a typo?

He had just got in to his car when two IRA men on a motorcycle drew up and began firing.

(extracted from today's Independent)

Thanks for giving me your feeling.
