Bonjour/bonsoir et bonne nouvelle annee a tous.

Please help if you can: I just heard for the first time the word 'un goujat'. Please bear in mind this is my own phonetic rendition of the word as my French interlocutor had never seen it written down and could not spell it with any certainty. I gather it refers to someone who quite happily partakes of what is on offer without any sense of 'mucking in'. This could refer to a meal, long in preparation, where not a thankyou is heard and the offer to 'faire la vaisselle' is out of the question.

Please excuse my clumsy phrasing I'm nervous (read: a bit pissed.)

Thankyou in advance. Hey, a new word, would n't cha know?

Thankyou Timpeak. Quite right I was being lazy. I wasn't sure of the spelling and am mightily impressed with the WR dict. Cheers.

By the way my original post read entirely differently than the one posted. After logging in I was told I hadn't logged in. I'm still learning how to navigate the site. It's a great site and I'm sure I will over come the odd glitch.
