Something unsteady is hanging from a rope (For example, a dish on which something has been kept) is twirling and sometimes slanting down and moving up again for balance and equilibrium. I would like to know How to express it. Thanks.

"The plate full of clay lamps hanging from a rope would twirl a hundred times for balance and proper equilibrium and sometimes slant down."

If I dangle a plate full of candles from from a wire/rope in the ceiling what would its movement be, if it is not properly balanced on all sides and there are slight gusts of wind? would it proper to say it is jiggling and twirling and swinging?
