have caused to contribute funds to companies

Bonjour,

Does "caused" in the follwoing sentence : the company have contributed and caused to contribute funds" mean "intend to". thanks

    Not really, no. The "caused to" addition is included so that even if the company itself did not directly contribute, neither should it have incited anyone else to either. The words are included so that, for instance, the company directors do not instruct their employees to make contributions in their own names. "intend to" does not really match that meaning.

    Est ce que je peux traduire l'idee : "une société A à laquelle une société Y a demandé d'apporter des fonds à une société X par : An A company caused to contribute fund to X by Y" Merci
