Regarding the above sentence I made, is it also possible to use "Selected" instead of "Having been selected"?

Another way I can see it written besides dojibear's #1 would be:
After being selected for the final interview, they were asked to fill out the questionnaire.

I think it is possible, but I can’t imagine anyone doing so in practice.

"After selection" is another option, avoiding the clumsy passive.

Thank you all! Is this because the word "select" intrinsically doesn't have the notion of an action that carries on over a period of time? One has to be done and over with before something else happens as a consequence of that?
