One of our colleague did some office job (not properly done) but as he was about to leave the company so he did that. We colleagues were talking about him, one said, he knew it, that he would leave the job. So, that's why he did this kind of work.
1. He knew it, that he would leave the job. So, that's why he did work of this kind.
Can we say both the sentences?

    Yes, you can say both, the first example is certainly more frequently heard, the second might be said either for style or emphasis.
