I'm a bit confused of the word order in a sentence I'm trying to translate:

He said he admired my hair above everything. He watched the sun shine on it in the mornings.

I have put:

Does this sound correct? If not what would be right?
Thanks

Oh also, would it be in the present subjunctive because it is reported speech?
In this case would it be:

Does this sound right?

The second sentence is no reported speech.

Als - puts emphasis on time (when)
wie - emphasis on how the sun shines on the hair every morning
