Hi

Can I use both prepositions in the following structure and is the meaning the same?

hear from somebody on/about something

examples:

Later, we'll hear from Neil on/about improving the quality of our products.

We're still wating from the bank on/about our mortgage.

In my second example, the preposition on appears odd to me.

Thanks.
