heat it up slightly ?

Hi all,

There are some dishes that one can eat without they being warm. that is, they may be served at room temperature.
However, if I wish to have it slightly heated (I don't want it really hot), can I ask the waiter to "heat it up slightly"?

Or should I, rather, ask him something differently? I mean, I want that particular dish it a bit warmer, not steaming. I know that if I want it "really hot" I may simply ask the waiter to "heat it up", but this would not be the case.
Can you help me out?

Thank you. :)

I would say: 'Could you heat it up a bit please, but not too hot!'
