In the movie''The Lincoln Lawyer'' the lawyer is talking to his client who has been accused of killing a girl after sleeping with her and says to his lawyer:Look, when I left, that chick was fine. Look, I slept with her, okay...I did, but I didn't hurt her, I promise. Lawyer:Three people saw you throw a knife into the LA river, huh? Huh? Help me. Client: I had that knife in my car. I knew they were gonna find it, man. They were gonna pin it on me, I know!
What does the lawyer mean by saying to his client''help me''?

He means that the client must cooperate and assist the lawyer by telling him what really happened if he is to defend him with any success.

The client tries to explain that he did not kill the woman. The Lincoln Lawyer points out that the evidence is against the client - the client has behaved as if he were a murderer.

Lawyer:Three people saw you throw a knife into the LA river, huh? Huh? Help me by giving me some more information: information that could explain that sort of an action done by an innocent man.
