his negotiating posture going into a meeting

"Let me start with a tweet from President Trump this morning. He talked about his negotiating posture going into a meeting with Kim Jong Un. He said, quote, "we haven't given up anything, and they have agreed to denuclearization. So great for world. Site closure and no more testing, exclamation mark." "

How does "going into" is linked with "his negotiating posture"? I can't imagine a posture going into a meeting. It must be more of "he talked about his negotiating posture at this point as he's going into the meeting" + "a posture that he plans to have in the meeting."

How should I see this?

I don't know what you mean by that, but "his negotaiating posture" = the posture he intends to use for negotiating. Compare "My driving gloves... Your bathing suit... Their camping gear..."
