If I'm standing on line and I need to leave for a second, what could I say to the person infront or behind me ?
I always say "could you hold my spot? "
Is there any other possibility ?
thanks.

    "standing in a line"

People create the line. You are a part of the line. You are in the line, part of the line--not on the line.

    Yes, you could say that.
    However, someone might respond, "Why?"
